The Story Behind The Song

In 1952 I was collaborating with Sammy Fain on a Disney animated feature: "Sleeping Beauty." It seems that Walt Disney had planned to animate "Peter Pan" many years before and Frank Churchill who had composed the score for "Snow White" (and was now deceased) had written some music at that time for Pan. Walt Disney asked me to write a lyric to this clever melodic piece of Churchill's. The above was the result and through the years it has collected many recordings and performances — especially in programs for children.
