The Story Behind The Song

Peter Tinturin and I, as new collaborators with complete access to Decca records, were having great success with our output. Instead of having to pursue publishers, they were running after us asking for our most recent songs. This number was written in the genre of our current hit at that time; "What Will I Tell My Heart?" — and was immediately snatched up and recorded by great artists. This song was very popular with the R & B group and gathered many platters. Still being played worldwide today is Billie Holiday's version.
